Research in our department is focused on various interests derived from the clinical practice of general thoracic surgery. Among these, oncologic problems in lung cancer treatment are our major challenges.
- Research on Biological Markers
Several biological markers expressed in lung cancer tissue, which can be the candidates for prognostic predictors and the targets of order-made treatments, are being studied. - Research on Local Immunological Response
Local immunological response in lung cancer tissue is being studied, especially in relation to the crosstalk between T-reg cells and cancer specific antigens. - Research on Minimal Invasive Surgery
Clinical application of endoscopic surgery is being studied for minimally invasive treatment for both malignant and benign disorders.
