Staff

The department of Obstetrics and Gynecology1 is comprised of four subspecialties: Perinatology, Gynecologic Oncology, Reproductive Medicine, and Women's Health Medicine.

We have three departments, such as Obstetrics and Gynecology 1, Obstetrics and Gynecology 2 and Gynecologic oncology, which cooperate in education and conduct lectures, training and research. Research areas are diverse, along with the subspecialties mentioned above. We are trying to being studied incorporate graduate studies in postgraduate education. Although clinical and educational activities, we are striving to develop human resources by inheriting the greatness of obstetrics and gynecology with the goal of developing clinicians with a research mindset. Which both studies have been published as English papers with basic and clinical examinations based on clinical questions.

Research fields and main research themes explored in our department are as follows:

① Perinatal Medicine
  • Pathological analysis of miscarriage/premature birth
  • Analysis of the pathogenesis of perinatal brain disorders
  • Analysis of placental function during pregnancy and delivery
  • Sociological and ethical aspects in obstetrics and gynecology, such as artificial abortion
  • Clinical studies in obstetric surgery (mainly Caesarean section)
② Reproductive Medicine and Endocrinology
  • Studies on cytokine network in female reproductive organs
  • Studies on egg quality in assisted reproductive technology
③ Gynecologic Oncology
  • Studies on cancer treatment using transgenic mice
  • Examination of complications in gynecological surgery
④ Pelvic reconstruction surgery
  • Studies on treatment/diagnosis of genital prolapse of the pelvic organs
