Lifestyle-related diseases and cancers have become the biggest issues in healthcare. Preventive medicine is now focusing on primary prevention more than secondary prevention, such as medical check‐up and tertiary prevention such as rehabilitation. The primary prevention means health promotion. The main topics of research in our department are prevention of lifestyle-related diseases and research on Helicobacter pylori. In addition, considering the importance of mental health these days, we are also working on stress-related research. Specifically, the titles of the research being conducted in our department are as follows;

  1. A study of the relation between lifestyle and metabolic disease based on the medical examination data of the past 10 years
  2. A study on exercise methods to reduce stress in individuals undergoing health checkups
  3. Examination of the effects of muscle and body fat mass on ADL including cognitive function and mental health in the elderly subjects
  4. Effects of prevention on locomotive syndrome by exercise intervention for the purpose of mental health improvement
  5. A comparative observational study of patients with atrophic gastritis examining the standard values of serum gastrin and pepsinogen related to diagnostic criteria for autoimmune gastritis
  6. A study of attitude survey for health check-up with smoking habits and smoking cessation support using a new leaflet
  7. Clinical characteristics and long-term prognosis of gastric neuroendocrine tumors with autoimmune gastritis: A retrospective, multicenter study in Japan
  8. Endoscopic and clinical features of advanced gastric cancer after successful eradication of Helicobacter pylori
  9. Prevalence of type A gastritis and relation with H. pylori infection in severe atrophic gastritis.
