Our research policy is to determine the basic and clinical research themes in order to clarify the questions and problems arising from daily clinical practice, and to feed back the research results to clinical practice. We also aim at conducting original research that would transfer innovative and useful information to the world and make an international contribution.
Main research themes
- Medical application of prostate multiparametric MR imaging and MRI-ultrasound fusion-guided prostate biopsy for patients with elevated PSA levels
- Possibility of non-contrast enhanced non-invasive functional MR imaging for assessment of renal function, exocrine pancreatic function, gallbladder and bile duct function, and pulmonary function
- Establishment of diagnostic imaging methods for differentiating renal masses based on WHO 2016 classification
- Renal multiparametric MR imaging in diabetic nephropathy: New insights to evaluate early diabetic nephropathy noninvasively
- Validation studies of diagnostic accuracy and interobserver reproducibility for the VI-RADS (Vesical Imaging-Reporting And Data System) with bladder multiparametric MR imaging for muscle-invasive bladder cancers
- Evaluation of a modified version of LI-RADS v2014(Liver Imaging Reporting and Data System)using EOB-enhanced MR imaging (hepatocyte-specific gadoxetate disodium MRI contrast agent) for improving diagnostic accuracy of hepatocellular nodules in patients with chronic liver disease
- Evaluation of liver fibrosis by assessing hepatic extracellular volume fraction before and after direct-acting antiviral therapy in patients with chronic hepatitis C infection
- Clinical implementation of radiogenomics using multiparametric MRI and genetic information for personalized medicine of pancreatic cancer
- Transcatheter adrenal vein sampling in the diagnosis of primary aldosteronism: An alternative method for adrenal venous sampling in cases with difficult right adrenal vein sampling
- Transarterial microvascular embolization for chronic joint pain: Analysis of microhemodynamics after administration of embolic material using synchrotron radiation (SPring-8)
