Research Interests

Our department is dedicated to the following research areas. (1) Pathophysiological analysis of autoinflammatory diseases. We have identified the pathogenic mechanisms of TNF receptor-associated periodic syndrome (TRAPS) and autoinflammatory bone disorder cherubism. (2) Inflammatory linkages between psoriasis and metabolic syndromes. We have shown that obesity and hyperlipidemia synergistically exacerbate psoriatic skin inflammation. (3) Cytokine component EBI3 in various immune/inflammatory diseases. We are analyzing the role of EBI3 in pathogenesis using mutant mice.
