Since April, we have had a reading session every Wednesday from noon,
    mainly for graduate students.
The textbook is "The Cell" by Prof. Don W. Fawcett 2nd edition 1981,
Itis available online at ASCB The American Society for Cell Biology.
    https://www.ascb.org/career-development/teaching/don-fawcetts-the-cell/

Two graduate students alternately explain the photographs while translating them
completely, and I give supplementary explanations to them.
The textbook was published exactly 40 years ago when I was a student. But at that time,
it was a collection of excellent electron micrographs from all over the world. The author,
Professor Fawcett (Harvard Medical School), is friends with my teachers (Professor Yasuo
Uehara and Professor Kiyoshi Hama) I have memories of reading with them and their students
when I was in graduate school. The truth, backed by the "beautiful image", has not faded
into 40 years of academic progress, and is likely to be published by ASCB today.
I recommend reading this textbook to readers. (Professor Toida)

Associate Professor Hayashi's papers were selected as the cover of the May 2021 issue of Cerebral Cortex.
    https://academic.oup.com/cercor/issue/31/5
    Explanation:
The generation of micro morphology at the end of synapses was analyzed for projection from the cerebral cortex to the thalamus, which processes sodic sensations. The five-layer axon of the cerebral cortex is shown in reddish purple, the dendritic structure of postthydrium nuclear neurons is shown in yellow, and a cross-section of the electron microscope continuous image at the end of the synapse is shown on the left, and a three-dimensional reconstruction model is shown in the center and right. In wild-type mice (upper row), many thorn protrusions extending from dendritic protrusions are wrapped in giant synaptic endings of the cortical five-layer axon to form synapses, whereas spine protrusions are not formed in mice deficiting the S nap25 gene (lower row). Paper: Hayashi et al. 2021. Maturation of complex synaptic connections of layer 5 cortical axons in the posterior thalamic nucleus requires SNAP25. Cereb. Cortex 31(5): 2625-2638.
